Last week TCS got these little rings in that you can alter......so tonight i thought why not. This is what i came up with. I used alcohol ink and some Maya Road rub-ons. BTW the rub-ons are fabulous.....i just love them.

My First Attempt @ Alcohol Ink

Well i finally decided to pick up a few of the alcohol inks today when i was at work. (Carolyn inspired me with the make and take she did today) I have not used them other than for one little project at a design team meeting. They are much easier to work with than i thought and very forgiving if you have the Alcohol Blending Solution. So i decided to make these key chains for my Cali girls. Not my original idea for key chains...but they will be perfect.

BFF book....

Last night when i left TCS i told Carolyn i am going home to create... she looked at me and said "well ok"........ and that is what i did. I picked up a few new things i had not had before (mostly ranger distressing items) and home i went.

So i decided to make a little BFF book of my friend Shell and I. I am still waiting on a few pics from her (older pics) but this will do for now. I used Ranger Crackle paint, MR chip board and sheer, and Daisy D's paper

Scrap Lift with a twist...

A few days ago while my hubby was grocery shopping i decided to browse a few scrap mags.
While browsing i found a pic of the cutest card ...I combined that idea with a class i took from Annette last year and this is what i came up with. Since i posted a pic of the card on the forum i decided to trim the skirt straight on the bottom i think i like it better this way.

It was so simple to do, i just free handed what looked like a tank top cut it out, and glued strips of paper that i cut with the wavy blade and my cutterpede, tied a ribbon around the waist and sprayed the whole thing with a mister filled with water and perfect pearls.

Yes More Vegas Scrapping.....

Tonight at the No Frills Crop i decided to work on the Vegas Scrapbooks i promised my girls from Cali. None of the girls are scrappers....and to top it off not all of the girls even brought cameras. With the cameras that were brought i think we took about 300 pics, not to shabby for 3 days.
I left empty spaced for each of the girls to journal and a few extra spots for pics they might want to include.

Hang 10 With Bo Bunny

I did this layout with the new Bo Bunny collection. I had a hard time i am not a 12x12 scrapper i think this might be my 10th 12x12 layout ever. The top right corner is still missing something....i have a stamp that is kind of like a sun i might stamp there. But i am not sure yet.
This is just a card i did using the extras. Sherri wanted to focus on this stickers.....omg that was hard so i thought i would made a card using one.

Maya Road Calender Book...Vegas Style

When Sherri asked me to look through the pile of design team projects i was so excited that the Maya Road tabbed calender book was in one of the packets.....i knew it would be fabulous for my trip to Vegas. I have done a couple project in the past for the design team...and was always thrilled to take the completed projects back to The Crafty Scrapper for display.....but today i had separation anxiety . I did not want to leave my Vegas book. I have looked at the pictures and my book about a zillion times over the past month.

It is funny how when you go on a trip or do something memorable the thoughts consume your every waking moment when you first return to "real everyday life"........then as days, weeks, months even years go by you think of that event less and less until it is just a memory of the past. A memory that at some point in life will jogged deep out of your memory central....by a scent....a song......a drink....or a talk among old friends. But for us....the scrap family we will always have those memories preserved forever.

My Scrap Room

After months of not being able to create a simple card, i got my MOJO back....woohoooo i was excited. I think it might have something to do with a 4 day get away to Vegas with 5 of my girlfriends from Cali. (that is a whole other post)But it was short lived as most of my scrap supplies were still in boxes from when we moved......9 months ago. I know pitiful. So to create i had to organize and this was my end result. The sad thing is the only thing i had to buy to put this room together were 4 art bins and some brackets for my shelves. I already had everything else. I wish i would have done this months ago.

I am hoping in time i can buy a chair....maybe two and a little table for a sitting area. Then of course some art of some sort.

This is my little sewing area. The black container is for my ribbon.
On the inside of the top of the hutch i have art bins with all my holiday and other categorized supplied, along with some foam stamps, boxes of pictures, and some magazines.
In the bottom i have my two crop bags.

Make and Takes at the Crop

The design team was asked to develop make and takes for the Crop for the Cure which was Saturday at the store. All of the projects were to be in the theme of "cooking for the cure". The participants all expressed positive things about the make and takes. The new 'bar' at the front of the store was the perfect height for doing these projects. 7 people at a time could work on items at the bar.

Luxe Designs was great to donate a full make and take which Annette & Carolyn shared with the croppers. The card used jotters, rub ons and some papers from their Pashmina line for these cute cards.

Heidi developed a cute file folder recipe card using Coca Cola papers and cute kitchen stamps. The design used a Coke Can pop tab to hold the ribbon in place. She also taught the groups on use of acrylic stamps, tabs from punches and stapling with the mini stapler. (not pictured)

Aimee set up a great card using the clear stamps from Crafty Secrets and taught use of colored pencils with Gamisol to color in the scrappers choice of stamped image and used the same stamps to stamp a little expression on the card as well.

Joanna also used kitchen stamps from Crafty Secrets. For the project she designed, the scrappers cut out the images and attached them to one side of the recipe card. The design used the Flair kitchen papers. It was another wonderful design.

The design team is looking forward to being involved more in events such as this to share techniques and new products. Let us know in comments your thoughts on these projects.

Hi I am Aimee AKA Crazy Aimee............

........some even know me as A-I-M-E-E, dashes included. I am a newer member to the design team. I have always been a crafty person but only made my first layout, about two years ago. I don't think I have a certain "style" of scrapping, BUT I do love my stamps.

John and I have been together about 4 years. We moved here from California in November 2005. We finally bought our first house the end of February, and after a short 3 month remodel we moved in the first week in June. I only have one baby Dalton and he will be sixteen this Sunday. (time has flown by) Dalton always seems to inspire me to scrapbook, he is always keeping things that I could use on a layout, receipts, ticket stubs, oh and the screw the removed from his broken leg.

After moving to Texas I got a job doing billing and collections for a small company, but decided a few months ago that was not for me, Now I have a in home day care, so far i am really enjoying it, but i am going to have to get a part time job to support my stamp addiction.

Here are some cards I made with the new Crafty Secret Tea & Coffee stamps. I used colored pencils and with a blending tool and mineral spirits I blended the colors. On the coffee cup ones I used Diamond glaze to give it that epoxy look. Also used was a gelly roll star dust pen and We R Memory Keepers paper. Oh and we cannot forget the Heidi Swapp bling bling crown!

Here We Are

Yes, here we are. The design team for the Crafty Scrapper. This is a blog that the team will use to post ideas, techniques, challenges, swaps and anything else they can think of to excite the imagination. We plan to have FUN!

We hope that this will serve as a place to come when you are out of ideas, feeling less than creative, not sure what to do with a certain paper you got, etc. We also hope it will be a place you come when you are excited, have a gazillion ideas and want to see what others are doing. Please leave comments so we know what helps and what doesn't. With the changes in the team and now an individual blog just for the team---who knows what they'll come up with! The blog link will stay the same, but other details may change by the next time you visit.

Over the next week or so, each person on the team will introduce themselves and show a picture of a recent piece of work that they have completed. Once each has given a glimpse into themselves, we will start posting other ideas, projects, layouts and techniques!
